III SIBRT General Assembly Elects the news Executive Committee

On April 27, SIBRT members held their Third General Assembly meeting.

On April 27, SIBRT members held their Third General Assembly meeting. The Mayor of La Paz, Bolivia expressed interest in becoming a SIBRT member, considering his city is currently developing a BRT system.

Other highlights:

• Metrobus of Guatemala City is a new member
• Marcos Isfer is the new SIBRT President

And here are the results of voting on the Executive Committee, to serve for the next two years:

• President: Curitiba (replaced Bogota)
• Sub-regional Vice-president of Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean: Mexico City (replaced Guadalajara)
• Sub-regional Vice-president of Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador: Cali (replaced Guayaquil)
• Sub-regional Vice-president of Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Chile: Lima (replaced Santiago)
• Sub-regional Vice-president of Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina: Belo Horizonte (replaced Curitiba
• General Secretary: Luis Gutierrez

Lima, Peru was voted as the site of the Third Annual SIBRT Congress and Fourth General Assembly Meeting, to be held in April 2013.

Cali, Colombia was elected as the site for the next Executive Committee meeting, which will take place in November 2012.
