Objectives

• Share strategic information for the development of indicators;
• Identify areas of management and operations with real potential for improvement;
• Generate information to support the dialogue with governments, regulators and other key stakeholders.

The area of ​​Benchmarking and Innovation has the function of coordinating organization, implementation and maintenance of a database that:

• Describe the characteristics of systems and their governing bodies;
• Measure the performance of systems and the quality of its services;
• Measure the impact of systems on the urban environment, public health, quality of life, and competitiveness of cities.

This area seeks to identify and develop case studies of transport systems and their management agencies, in coordination with interested members and with the participation of researchers and academi centers to formulate recommendations for the improvement of the systems.

Another important function of the Benchmarking and Innovation area is to support systems in the implementation of recommendations based on case studies. It shall also conform and carry out an agenda for research and development of BRT systems and SIT's future with the participation of researchers and academic centers of prestige.
